As inter-Korean relations undergo notable improvements, the prospect of “unification” has gained increased visibility, heightening public expectations. Simultaneously, discussions on potential strategies, such as establishing a peace zone in the DMZ, addressing developmental issues, and creating an inter-Korean industrial belt, are prominent in conversations surrounding unification. However, contrary to public optimism, the roadmap for ‘unification’ remains elusive in terms of a specific timeframe. The enduring scars of division, etched into the land over an extended period, pose a formidable challenge to realizing the envisioned era of peaceful unification.
Amidst these uncertainties, it prompts contemplation on the envisioned future for the Han River and Seoul in an era characterized by peace and cooperation. What kind of transformative vision can we conceive for these regions as they navigate the complexities of reunification and chart a course towards collaborative prosperity?
